Grade Standards, Federal and State Marketing Orders, and abides by Principles of Inspection and Rules of Conduct.
Supervises or participates in taking representative samples of product and determines quality, condition, size, weight and/or moisture of Farmers' Stock peanuts, and other products.
Completes notesheet and review and sign Federal-State certificates certifying analysis and compliance/ noncompliance with applicable peanut FSA-CCC price support and USDA-MOAB Minimum Incoming Quality Standards for incoming quality regulations, and/or U.

Grade Standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to frequently lift minimum of 15 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds to a height of five feet with reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to work in a standing position to perform 90% of duties.
JOB DUTIES In general incumbents are responsible for performing the following duties under general supervision of District Supervisory Personnel guided by written and oral instructions, On-Job-Training including a first year four or five days farmers' stock peanuts formal new training class, and thereafter an annual one-day formal refresher training class and/or on-job refresher training with certification for all commodities.
1.
Follow rules of conduct/principles of Inspection guidelines of First 44 Paragraphs.
2.
Sample fruits/vegetables according to instructions in General and/or commodity handbooks and incoming farmers' stock and outgrade peanuts according to official probe pattern chart with the Pneumatic Sampler in a timely manner and in accordance with written instructions.
3.
Analyze sample(s) in accordance with Farmers' Stock Peanuts Inspection Procedures by Steps, and other commodities according to commodity handbook written instructions authorized by Federal Program Managers.
4.
Perform duties of lead inspector when applicable.
5.
Check, properly maintain and operate all pieces of grading equipment and PLI stamps to ensure equipment is properly calibrated, identified and/or adjusted and exhibits applicable USDA-FSIS seal of approval prior to inspection.
6.
Keep clear, complete and accurate notes of all inspections.
7.
Maintain accountability, issue and distribute Federal-State Inspection Service certificates and related forms as required.
8.
Maintains interpersonal relations with supervisors, peers, subordinates and industry-related personnel in a professional manner that promotes attainment of work objectives and poses no significant problems.
9.
Other Related Duties:
Maintain positive lot identification of all official samples.
Travel to various packing-houses and processing plants throughout the state to sample, inspect, and certify various fruits, vegetables, tree nuts and peanuts.
Maintain updated Inspection Instructions, U.

grade standards and other supplemental instructions on all commodities listed on federal license card.
Clean grading facilities and equipment daily when applicable and perform other related duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Co-op Second Quarter Freshman - 2.
0 grade point average or higher.
Personal Position requires a Federal License card:

Qualifications:

Score at least 75 on Aptitude Test.
Score 75 or better on final exam of new training and refresher classes, correctly identify all peanuts with A- Flavus Mold if applicable and score at least 75 on the grading exercises.
Must demonstrate ability to perform range of duties outlined above to be qualified for USDA-FPB license for commodity to be inspected after receiving OJT and formal classroom training.
Ability to read clearly written instructions.
Ability to correctly perform simple addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage computations with a calculator.
Ability to write or print legibly.
Ability to relate in a professional, friendly manner to co-workers, supervisors, applicants and related industry representatives and their employees, who may at times display a hostile and uncooperative attitude.
Working Routine daily work involves time spent in grading facilities, which may be exposed to dust, high noise Conditions:
levels, odors, vibrations and moving machinery.
Sometimes required to work outside exposed to inclement weather conditions.
Job often requires climbing to a height of 25 feet to operate and adjust Pneumatic Sampler.
Job may occasionally require overnight travel outside of assigned district and/or temporary transfer to another district.
Working Normal workweek is 40 hours.
